The Philadelphia Eagles halted the Kansas City Chiefs’ bid to make history by winning three consecutive NFL championships, defeating them in the Super Bowl. Now, the Eagles aim to repeat as champions, but they may be missing a key contributor to this season’s success.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Eagles assistant head coach and running backs coach Jemal Singleton interviewed for the New Orleans Saints’ offensive coordinator position. An Eagles official described Singleton as “a big part of what we do on offense and a rising star going forward.”
Fans on social media had mixed reactions to the news.
“Geesh, Kellen is really poaching the Eagles’ staff. Does he know there are other teams with guys he could swipe? Nick needs to add a clause in contracts saying, ‘You can only take 2 people with you when you get a head coaching job based on my culture,’” one fan tweeted.
“If this guy leaves the best running back in the world after just winning a Super Bowl to get paid more and lose with Kellen, I’m done,” another fan wrote.
“We thanked Kellen for his time here, and now he wants to take the coaching staff? It’ll tarnish his one-year legacy if this keeps up,” a third fan commented.
It remains to be seen whether Singleton will make the move.
