Wide receiver Keenan Allen #13 of the Chicago Bears
Could Keenan Allen Be a Fit for the Denver Broncos?

NFL free agency is deep into its third or fourth wave, yet several veteran playmakers remain available. While most franchise-changing talents have already been scooped up, a handful of experienced difference-makers could still impact teams in 2025.
One such veteran is six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Keenan Allen, who has been linked to the Denver Broncos. Bleacher Report’s Moe Moton recently suggested that the Broncos would be an ideal landing spot for Allen as they continue to build around rookie quarterback Bo Nix.
Moton highlighted Allen’s reliability and ability to move the chains, referencing his 2024 season with the Chicago Bears:
“As a rookie, Caleb Williams relied on Allen in a directionless offense that finished with the second-fewest passing yards and 28th in scoring for the 2024 campaign. The veteran receiver converted first downs on 43 out of his 70 catches. He can do the same for a team with a young quarterback in the upcoming term.”
After spending 11 seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers, Allen joined the Bears last season and posted a solid stat line: 70 receptions, 744 receiving yards, and seven touchdowns in 15 games. Over the course of his career, Allen has tallied 974 receptions, 11,274 yards, 66 touchdowns, and 598 first downs, proving his ability to be a reliable offensive weapon.
On paper, Allen would make a lot of sense for the Broncos. Head coach Sean Payton is looking to surround Nix with as much offensive talent as possible, and Allen’s experience would provide a dependable option, particularly in intermediate routes where young quarterbacks often look for safety nets.
However, Denver may opt to wait until after the 2025 NFL Draft before making a move for a veteran receiver. While this year’s draft class lacks elite top-end talent at the position, it is considered deep overall, which could make a younger option more appealing.
For now, Allen remains on the open market. But if the Broncos decide they need a proven, reliable pass-catcher to help guide their young quarterback, the veteran wideout could be a strong fit in Denver’s offense.
