The Raiders to acquire a promising wide receiver in an unexpected move, seen as a significant addition to their roster.

The latest mock draft from NFL.com’s Chad Reuter suggests that the Las Vegas Raiders could make a surprising move by selecting LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers with the 13th overall pick. This selection would be unexpected, as most mock drafts have Nabers going higher, potentially as early as the 6th overall pick to the New York Giants.

Despite already having Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers, the Raiders could see value in adding Nabers, who is considered one of the top wide receiver prospects in this year’s draft class. Nabers is praised for his quickness, strong hands, and speed, drawing comparisons to former LSU star Odell Beckham Jr.

In addition to Nabers, Reuter’s mock draft has the Raiders trading up to the first pick of the second round to select quarterback Michael Penix Jr. Penix would join Aidan O’Connell and Gardner Minshew in competing for the starting quarterback job.

Nabers had an impressive college career at LSU, catching 89 passes for 1,569 yards and 14 touchdowns in 13 games. He was named a consensus All-American and is seen as a future number one wide receiver in the NFL, with the potential to follow in the footsteps of LSU greats like Justin Jefferson, Ja’Marr Chase, and Odell Beckham Jr.
