According to RLS Media, Cunningham was discovered deceased at his residence in Clifton, New Jersey, with emergency services responding to reports of his unconscious state on Thursday afternoon.
Cunningham, a standout left tackle at the University of Cincinnati, was drafted by the Cardinals in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Following a year with Arizona, he was traded to the Patriots, where he spent two seasons. Subsequently, he joined the New York Giants for a two-season tenure, ultimately being released ahead of the 2023 season after failing to secure a spot on the final roster. Across his NFL career, Cunningham appeared in 31 games, starting in six.
His recent social media activity, documenting a turkey hunting trip in West Virginia just four days prior, offered no indication of the tragedy to come.
