While the team’s official injury report is pending, Jefferson assured reporters that he will be participating in Saturday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals, describing the injury as an “inner bruise.
” Jefferson shared his experience of watching the game while being transported to the hospital, expressing his emotions with yelling and screaming, admitting that the people around him may have found it annoying.
The injury occurred during the Vikings’ 3-0 victory against the Las Vegas Raiders when Jefferson, playing for the first time in eight games after a hamstring injury, absorbed a hard hit to the back right side of his ribs from Raiders safety Marcus Epps while making a 15-yard catch across the middle on a pass from Josh Dobbs.
Despite the early exit, Jefferson is determined to return to action, having averaged 135.8 receiving yards per game in his first four games of the season. The NFL Offensive Player of the Year in 2022, Jefferson concluded Sunday’s game with two catches for 27 yards.
