Despite being considered an extremely raw prospect, Anthony Richardson started immediately for the Colts but was sidelined for the season after a shoulder injury in Week 5. During his limited playtime, he posted a 56.5 passing grade on 107 snaps and a 45.3 PFF rushing grade on 18 attempts, falling short of his prolific college running performances.
If Richardson can break out as both a passer and a runner, the Colts could have one of the most dynamic offenses in football.

Richardson’s rookie season showed promise with 50 completions out of 84 attempts (59.5%), totaling 577 passing yards, 3 passing touchdowns, and an interception. He also accumulated 136 rushing yards and 4 rushing touchdowns in 4 starts before a Week 5 injury against the Tennessee Titans ended his season.
Early reports suggest Richardson’s throwing arm has fully recovered, though the Colts might ease him back in during the offseason and early training camp to prevent overexertion.
If Richardson remains healthy, the Colts’ offense could thrive next season, featuring Jonathan Taylor for a full season, a strong RPO game, re-signed Michael Pittman Jr., Jelani Woods’ return, and the development of young receivers like Josh Downs and Alec Pierce, along with rookie AD Mitchell.
With Richardson at the helm, the young Colts team has the potential to surprise in the AFC South, possibly reclaiming the division title for the first time since 2014, or at least making a serious push for an AFC wild card spot.
