Breaking News: Braves Eye Major Deal to Trade Their Resurgent Ace in quest to find replacements for Spencer Strider and Ronald Acuña Jr.

While it’s uncertain who exactly the Braves will acquire, it’s evident that they’ll be actively seeking additions. The Braves are a playoff team and are regarded as one of the top teams in the National League, despite dealing with injuries.

The upcoming trade deadline could address this issue, as the Braves might find replacements for Spencer Strider and Ronald Acuña Jr.

One potential addition to the starting rotation is Detroit Tigers’ starter Jack Flaherty. Flaherty is having a rebound year, boasting a 3.13 ERA in 16 starts this season.

Recently, Flaherty has been a subject of trade rumors, and MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand listed him among his 10 “trade targets to watch.”

“The 28-year-old may be on his way to his second straight Deadline deal, having been sent from St. Louis to Baltimore last August,” Feinsand noted. “Flaherty signed a one-year, $14 million deal with the Tigers after his subpar 2023, but he’s bounced back in a big way this season, posting a 3.13 ERA over 95 innings (16 starts) prior to the break. In a market largely desperate for rotation help, Flaherty could be a huge trade chip for Detroit.”

Flaherty, still relatively young, would provide the Braves with a significant boost for the remainder of the season. Given the likelihood of Flaherty being traded, the Braves should consider acquiring him.
