On Twitter, Garafalo wrote, “The #Bills are waiving DL Gable Steveson, source says. The former wrestler is a developmental prospect, so this won’t be the end of the line for him, whether he stays in Buffalo on the practice squad or moves elsewhere.”

Steveson was released by WWE on May 3. The Olympic gold medalist, who signed with WWE in 2021, made his in-ring debut against Baron Corbin at the 2023 NXT Great American Bash.

Following his WWE release, Steveson’s agent issued a statement to Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, saying:

“Gable Steveson is very grateful for the opportunities he had with WWE and would like to thank everyone in the organization who supported him. He would also like to thank all the fans for their support on his professional wrestling journey. Now, Gable is ready to resume competing at an elite level and looks forward to sharing big news with you all very soon.”
