Kamara amassed 115 rushing yards and four touchdowns, plus 65 receiving yards and another touchdown. Holder believes Cunningham could help mitigate the running game issues, suggesting he could be a useful addition to the practice squad as a contingency plan.
Cunningham was drafted by the Houston Texans in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft, but after being waived by the Texans in December 2021, he was picked up by the Tennessee Titans. The Titans released him in February 2023, and the Eagles signed him in August 2023 before he became a free agent in March 2024.
Criticism of Cunningham’s Performance with the Eagles

Platana described Zach Cunningham stint with the Eagles as “forgettable,” noting that he recorded 54 solo tackles, four broken-up passes, and a fumble recovery in 13 games. Holder also suggests that the Cowboys might consider targeting Tutu Atwell of the Los Angeles Rams in the 2024 NFL free agency. With Brandin Cooks potentially becoming a free agent and nearing his 31st birthday, the Cowboys might need a new deep threat if Cooks is not re-signed. Atwell, known for his speed since college, could serve as a more cost-effective option. Although he might not match Cooks’ overall impact, Atwell, who turns 25 next month, could provide a valuable deep threat for the Cowboys’ offense while being mindful of the salary cap.
