Police Reports Reveal Reasons Behind Dan Campbell’s Family Arrested

Last week, it was reported that Lions head coach Dan Campbell and his family sold their Bloomfield Hills home and moved to a more private residence. When asked about it during his press conference, Campbell was reluctant to discuss the matter. “I don’t want to go there, with any of it,” he said. “My primary job is to coach this team and keep them prepared each week.”

Crain’s Detroit Business initially reported that the Campbells had filed police reports due to security concerns. Following last year’s loss to the Dallas Cowboys, Jay Glazer of FOX Sports revealed that someone sent contractors to Campbell’s house after his address was leaked. Additionally, Fox 2 in Detroit reported on police filings made after the NFC Championship Game loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

The Detroit News and Detroit Free Press have detailed that Campbell’s family filed at least four police reports regarding their home between New Year’s Eve 2023 and shortly after the 49ers game. The first report was submitted on New Year’s Eve, while a more detailed one followed the NFC Championship Game.

After the loss to the 49ers, someone posted the Campbell family’s address on Snapchat, ridiculing the coach. This post was shared by one of their daughter’s classmates, who, along with friends, drove to the Campbells’ home and yelled insults. At the time, Dan and Holly Campbell were in the Bay Area for the game, leaving their daughter and her boyfriend at home. They advised her to leave the house due to the disturbance.

Although the classmate was questioned by investigators, it was determined that the incident didn’t warrant criminal charges. Holly Campbell expressed her primary concern about the public knowledge of their address, fearing future issues when her husband is away. Thankfully, the family has not experienced any harassment at their new, undisclosed location.
