The Michigan Wolverines secured bragging rights following their victory over the Alabama Crimson Tide in the Rose Bowl on Monday. Without delay, they took the opportunity to taunt Nick Saban’s team. Defensive lineman Cam Goode, in particular, wasted no time in making pointed and harsh comments aimed at the Crimson Tide as he celebrated on the field.

While seated in the end zone, savoring the victory along with his Wolverines teammates, Goode emphasized that they had no concerns about facing the Crimson Tide before the game. Rather than dwelling on the potential challenges posed by Alabama, Goode stated that their thoughts were preoccupied with their surprise and disbelief at Florida State not making it to the College Football Playoff.

In his words, Goode expressed, “We were more shocked that Florida State didn’t make it. We weren’t worried about Bama. I mean, you guys saw the results. We got the dub, and that’s all that matters, man. Roses smell real good.”

Goode took the opportunity to underline that the Michigan Wolverines’ victory over the Alabama Crimson Tide was legitimate and without any improprieties. His emphasis on winning “fair and square” alludes to the sign-stealing allegations that had surfaced earlier in the season, leading to the suspension of head coach Jim Harbaugh. Despite the controversies, Goode is making it clear that their success on the field against Alabama was achieved through fair play.

Goode further asserted, “Hear me out. We beat Bama fair and square; that’s all I’m going to say. Fair and square. Y’all saw it. We beat the referees and Bama; how about that?” This statement reinforces his insistence that the Michigan Wolverines’ victory over the Alabama Crimson Tide was achieved legitimately, addressing any lingering doubts and making a playful reference to overcoming both the opposition and potential controversies involving the referees.
