“Chargers Announce Heartbreaking Roster Changes Ahead of Week 7 Clash with Cardinals”

The Los Angeles Chargers made several roster adjustments ahead of their Week 7 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals on Monday night.

On Saturday, the team announced they had released safety Tony Jefferson but then re-signed him to the practice squad. As part of the shuffle, cornerback Nehemiah Shelton was released from the practice squad.

These minor roster changes come as the Chargers deal with injuries to several defensive backs, including Ja’Sir Taylor and Kristian Fulton, just days before their primetime game. Earlier in the week, the Chargers also added veteran cornerback Eli Apple to the practice squad to provide depth after suffering multiple injuries following their Week 6 victory over the Denver Broncos.

With Saturday’s moves, the Chargers roster was left at 52 players, one spot shy of the 53-man limit. While it’s possible that Apple could be promoted to the active roster, fans might be hoping for a trade ahead of the upcoming deadline to address the team’s injury concerns.
