With just 10 days left until the Eagles face the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, several key players missed practice on Thursday at the Linc, though one important Eagle made his return.
DeVonta Smith (hamstring), Dallas Goedert (rest/ankle), Saquon Barkley (rest), and Moro Ojomo (shoulder) watched from the sidelines during practice, with Goedert catching passes on the side. Meanwhile, Landon Dickerson (knee), Cam Jurgens (back), and Kenny Gainwell (concussion/knee) were not present at all.
However, there’s no need to worry yet—the Super Bowl is still a week and a half away.
The positive news from Thursday came when defensive end Brandon Graham (triceps) returned to practice for the first time since suffering his triceps injury on Nov. 24 in Los Angeles. The Eagles activated Graham’s practice window, and he participated in warmups and pass rush drills with the team. Although Graham wore a brace on his left arm, he was listed as a limited participant. His return is a hopeful sign for a potential Super Bowl appearance.
Here’s the full injury report from Thursday:
DNP (Did Not Practice):
Saquon Barkley (rest), A.J. Brown (rest), Landon Dickerson (knee), Kenny Gainwell (concussion/knee), Dallas Goedert (rest/ankle), Cam Jurgens (back), Moro Ojomo (shoulder), Eli Ricks (illness), DeVonta Smith (hamstring), Nolan Smith (illness)
Limited:
Britain Covey (neck), Brandon Graham (elbow)
Full Practice:
Brett Toth (knee), C.J. Uzomah (abdomen)
At 36 years old, Graham was playing at a high level before his injury, and his return would be a significant boost for the Eagles in their Super Bowl matchup against the Chiefs.
In addition to Graham, C.J. Uzomah (abdomen) also returned to practice after his practice window was opened on Thursday. Offensive lineman Brett Toth (knee) was back on the field after being listed as DNP the day before, and Britain Covey (neck) was practicing after being limited earlier in the week.
The Eagles will hold practice at the NovaCare Complex on Friday, return to the Linc on Saturday, and then head to New Orleans on Sunday for Super Bowl week.
