Dane Jackson #30 of the Buffalo Bills
Bills Bolster Secondary with Familiar Face, Re-Sign CB Dane Jackson

The Buffalo Bills are bringing back a familiar face to strengthen their secondary, signing cornerback Dane Jackson to a one-year deal, the team announced Monday.
Jackson, 28, returns to Buffalo after spending the 2024 season with the Carolina Panthers. Originally a seventh-round pick by the Bills in the 2020 NFL Draft, Jackson carved out a significant role in Buffalo’s defense during his first stint with the team. Over four seasons, he appeared in 52 games, starting 28, and totaled three interceptions, two forced fumbles, and 152 tackles.
After departing Buffalo following the 2023 season, Jackson joined the Panthers, where he played in nine games, including three starts. He contributed with two pass deflections and 23 total tackles during his lone season in Carolina.
The Bills’ decision to bring Jackson back adds depth to their defensive backfield, reinforcing a secondary that has undergone some changes in recent seasons. Jackson’s familiarity with the defensive system and his versatility make him a valuable asset as Buffalo looks to remain a top contender in the AFC.
A Pennsylvania native, Jackson played his college football at the University of Pittsburgh before making the jump to the NFL. He will wear No. 23 as he embarks on his second tenure with the Bills.
