“Buffalo Bills Take Swift Action, Sign Matt Haack as Punter Insurance Ahead of Crucial Playoff Clash with Kansas City Chiefs”

The Buffalo Bills must ensure that nothing is left to chance as they approach their most crucial game of the season.

Punter Sam Martin sustained a hamstring injury while attempting to chase down a blocked field goal in the victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and there is uncertainty about his full recovery before the matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Despite sustaining the injury, Martin remained on the field and continued to punt during the game, fostering optimism that he can be available for the upcoming matchup and that the issue won’t be a long-term concern.

The Bills promptly addressed this concern by signing a familiar face, providing an insurance policy in case he is unable to play.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the team has inked a deal with Matt Haack.

In fact, Haack was part of the team in 2021.

He also had stints with the Miami Dolphins, Indianapolis Colts, and Cleveland Browns.

He has only made one appearance this season, averaging 51.7 yards per punt on three punts during that contest.

If Martin is unable to play, he is likely to be called up and assume punting duties.

The upcoming matchup between the Chiefs and Bills in the postseason will mark the third time they have faced off during the Patrick Mahomes-Josh Allen era, with both previous games being considered instant classics.

Nevertheless, this will be the first time the game is hosted in New York, providing an opportunity for Sean McDermott’s team to overcome past challenges and secure a victory against their long-time rivals.
