Buffalo Bills kicker Tyler Bass life in danger following death treats

Following the Buffalo Bills’ heartbreaking loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Divisional Playoffs on Sunday night, kicker Tyler Bass, who missed a crucial 44-yard field goal that could have tied the game, is facing an unfortunate backlash from some disgruntled fans. Regrettably, this has led to Bass deactivating his social media accounts after he and his family became the targets of online threats.

This disturbing reaction exemplifies the dark side of sports fandom, and such behavior has no place in the sports world. It’s essential to recognize that these threats likely come from a small, extreme subset of fans. Fortunately, other Bills supporters have taken to social media to express their solidarity with Tyler Bass and the team in the aftermath of the loss.

Bass, a veteran kicker, took full responsibility for the missed field goal, acknowledging that the outcome rested on his shoulders. Despite the support from some fans, the negative response to his performance has prompted Bass to distance himself from social media.

In addressing the situation, Bass stated, “Ultimately, it’s completely on me. I’ve got to do a better job of getting through to my target. I love this team, and it hurts. This one hurts bad. Yeah, I’ve got to do a better job. Totally on me.” On the other hand, Bills quarterback Josh Allen emphasized the collective nature of victories and losses, pointing out that the team as a whole plays a role in these outcomes.
