Former Atlanta Falcons linebacker Fulton Kuykendall, known as “Kaptain Krazy” for his aggressive style, has passed away at the age of 70, as reported by several sources. The cause of his death has not been disclosed.

Standing at 6 feet 4 inches and weighing 225 pounds, Kuykendall played college football at UCLA before being selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the sixth round, 132nd overall, in the 1975 draft. He remained with the Falcons until 1984, after which he played his final season with the San Francisco 49ers in 1985.

Kuykendall played in 123 games, starting 93 of them. He was part of the Falcons’ “Grits Blitz” defense, which allowed only 129 points in the 1977 season, the fewest in the NFL during the Super Bowl era.

The Falcons expressed their condolences on social media, formerly known as Twitter, regarding Kuykendall’s passing: “We are deeply saddened by the passing of Grits Blitz member and Falcons Legend, Fulton Kuykendall. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.”
